Released in 2014, Puzzlets (Called Ludos at the time) gave educators (and parents) a way to build all sorts of skill (basic programming, math, colors, etc.) via the use of video games, utilizing a hands on approach.

Puzzlets Board

The Puzzlets board is a Bluetooth accessory that connects to a mobile device and, when paired with an app, allows putting pieces into the slots to control the game. This was the base of the concept of Puzzlets.

In its early state (as 'Ludos'), this video showcasing it was made: https://gust.com/companies/digital-dream-labs/video_transcodings/17178 (TODO: Embed)

There were 4 games released for Puzzlets:

  • Cork the Volcano
  • Monstrous Molecules
  • Swatch Out
  • Abacus Finch

In 2020, 1red2blue4 (a former DDL employee, who worked there at the time) ported all the games to be fully digital, eliminating the requirement of a physical board, and published them all to Steam. They are still up to this day on DDL's Steam page.

Wonder Workshop Dash Robot

In 2017, Digital Dream Labs released a set of Puzzlets tiles compatible with Wonder Workshop's Dash Robot,

A short paragraph about Dash from the Wonder Workshop Website:

"Dash is beloved by kids and teachers across the US and around the world. Dash is smart enough to respond to voices and sounds and Dash can dance and sing, which makes for a fun and interactive learning experience for kids. Dash will help kids learn, laugh, and grow."

The Puzzlets for Dash Tiles came in a small patch with a flat drawing of Dash, the tiles included ones to make Dash move, light up, and make sounds. As of July 2025, the offical Anki/DDL website states these tiles are available, however nobody has tried to buy these and reported to see if they are genuinely sent.
